IGDTUW to receive new campus in Narela education hub

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu attended the valedictory ceremony of the ‘Prabodhan’ Induction Programme-2026 at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW).

During the event, Chief Minister Gupta announced that the government is working to establish a new IGDTUW campus within the proposed Narela education hub. This expansion aims to increase student capacity beyond the current 1,000 seats to accommodate more students from Delhi and across India.

Speakers at the ceremony emphasized the importance of empowering women through technical education and innovation. Lieutenant Governor Sandhu encouraged students to become creators of technology to shape the country's future, while Education Minister Ashish Sood noted that technical expertise in fields like AI is essential for challenging patriarchy and enhancing national security.
