Delhi CM Rekha Gupta honors 118 teachers at state awards

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta honored 118 teachers during the ‘Shikshak Mahakumbh - State Teacher Awards 2026’ ceremony held at Tyagaraj Stadium. The event, organized on the occasion of Teacher's Day, recognized educators for their outstanding contributions to the field of education.

The awardees included 20 school principals, 69 teachers from the Education Department and MCD schools, and three teachers from CM Shri schools. Recognition was also extended to librarians, special educators, and sports teachers.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister emphasized the government's commitment to providing quality education that fosters skills, values, and confidence. To support this mission, a budget of 19,148 crore rupees has been allocated for education for the 2026-27 fiscal year. The administration also aims to prepare schools for the future through the integration of technology and smart learning resources.
