Delhi CM Rekha Gupta launches ‘Delhi Ko Kude Se Azadi’ cleanliness campaign
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has launched the ‘Delhi Ko Kude Se Azadi-Swachhta Abhiyan 2026’ cleanliness campaign. The initiative, inaugurated at the Kedarnath Sahni Auditorium, aims to transform sanitation efforts into a mass people’s movement by encouraging active citizen participation in maintaining cleanliness in homes, marketplaces, and public spaces.
The campaign is scheduled to run across the capital until October 2, 2026. Its primary objectives include strengthening the city’s sanitation system, promoting scientific waste management, and increasing public awareness. To drive engagement, the program encourages different civic wards to compete for a prize pool of Rs 1 crore.
During the launch, officials emphasized that cleanliness is a shared responsibility between the government and its residents. The initiative seeks to move beyond administrative actions to foster a cultural shift in how citizens approach hygiene and environmental responsibility.
