Delhi court grants interim injunction to entrepreneur Ankiti Bose
A Delhi court has granted an interim injunction to entrepreneur and investor Ankiti Bose in a defamation lawsuit. Additional District Judge Harjyot Singh Bhalla of the Dwarka Courts directed the removal of an article and restrained defendants from publishing or disseminating the content, or any substantially similar material, while proceedings are pending.
The court observed that Bose is the complainant in a criminal case filed in Mumbai against a former colleague, rather than an accused party. The ruling emphasized that media outlets must exercise caution and cannot assume the role of a court by attributing criminal liability without a judicial determination. The judge noted that irresponsible reporting can damage reputations and interfere with the administration of justice, reaffirming that the right to reputation is an integral part of the right to life and dignity under the Constitution.
