Dhruv Rathee faces defamation suit in Delhi court

A defamation suit has been filed against YouTuber Dhruv Rathee in Delhi’s Saket Court. The legal action, initiated by Hindu devotees and BJP IT cell member Vikas Pandey, alleges that Rathee’s video content made offensive and false claims regarding Lord Ram, Sita Maa, and Lord Krishna, specifically alleging they consumed meat and alcohol during their exile.

The complainants are seeking an interim injunction to prevent Rathee from publishing similar content and are requesting damages of at least Rs 50 lakh. They have requested that any awarded damages be used for the maintenance of temples dedicated to the deities mentioned.

In a related development, the court has ordered a new summons to be sent to Rathee’s address in Gurugram. While Rathee typically resides in Austria, the court noted his recent presence in India for protests. The matter has been adjourned, with the next hearing scheduled for November 5.
