Delhi Enforcement Directorate probes 600 crore drug procurement scandal

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a formal request to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) of the Delhi government for documents related to an alleged drug and medical‑equipment procurement scam exceeding ₹600 crore. The agency is seeking records of tenders, payments, and transactions involving manufacturers, OEMs and distributors for items such as portable X‑ray machines, C‑arm radiological equipment, anaesthesia workstations, oral rehydration salts, bedding, linen, surgical supplies and gloves.

The probe follows earlier actions by Delhi’s anti‑corruption branch, which arrested former Central Procurement Agency chief Vinod Kumar Ranga on suspicion of illegal purchases. After directives from the Delhi Deputy Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister, a case was registered and the ED’s investigation now aims to determine whether any financial irregularities, fraud or money‑laundering occurred in the procurement process.
