Delhi Assembly to table CAG reports and repeal Bed‑and‑Breakfast law in Monsoon Session

On the opening day of the Delhi Legislative Assembly's Monsoon Session (August 7‑11, 2026), Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will present two Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports covering the 2023‑24 financial year and state finance for 2024‑25. Power Minister Ashish Sood will table a notification and corrigendum from the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission.

The session will also introduce three bills: the Delhi (Right of Citizen to Time‑Bound Delivery of Services) Bill, 2026, which repeals the 2011 time‑bound services act; an amendment to the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board Act; and a repeal of the 2007 Bed‑and‑Breakfast Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, prompted by the fatal fire in Malviya Nagar that killed 21 people, including 11 foreign nationals. Speaker Vijender Gupta chaired the Business Advisory Committee meeting that approved the agenda, and Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra announced the withdrawal of the B&B law.
