The Delhi government has initiated several social and economic programs, including the launch of the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana and new corporate partnerships for social responsibility.
The Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, launched on August 26, is a scheme targeting up to 1.7 million eligible women aged 21 to 60 with a family annual income below Rs 2.5 lakh. Under the program, beneficiaries receive Rs 2,500 monthly, with Rs 1,500 directed to a recurring deposit (RD) account and Rs 1,000 transferred via a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) wallet. The RD component currently has a lock-in period with a maturity date set for July 31, 2029.
In a separate development, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and PWD Minister Parvesh Verma attended an MoU signing ceremony at the Delhi Secretariat. The agreement involves Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. and Sunup Build Private Ltd.
