Delhi government launches mobile vans for worker registration
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Labour Minister Kapil Mishra have launched the ‘Namo Shramik Seva Kendra’ mobile service vans at the Delhi Secretariat. The initiative is part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,’ marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and his 25 years in public service.
The mobile units are designed to register construction workers and assist them in accessing various welfare schemes provided by the Delhi government. By visiting construction sites, labour chowks, and other high-density worker areas, the vans aim to reduce the need for workers to make multiple trips to government offices.
Services provided by the vans include on-the-spot registration and renewal, information regarding government schemes, assistance with documentation, and access to digital services. A total of 13 vans are planned for deployment, with one van assigned to each district, to ensure workers are registered with the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (DBOCWWB).
