Delhi government partners with Indian Oil to beautify flyover spaces
The Delhi government is collaborating with major national corporations to revitalize the spaces beneath several flyovers across the national capital. Using Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds, the initiative aims to transform areas previously characterized by darkness, unhygienic conditions, and garbage into aesthetically pleasing urban environments.
Through memorandums of understanding (MoUs), companies such as Indian Oil Corporation have committed to both the redevelopment and the maintenance of these sites for the next two to three years. Indian Oil is specifically overseeing the transformation of five locations: Chirag Delhi, Panchsheel, IIT Delhi, Punjabi Bagh, and portions of Aurobindo Marg, as well as the Mukarba Chowk flyover.
Each site will feature a unique theme tailored to its surroundings. The Chirag Delhi area will focus on nature and wildlife, featuring artwork of tigers, lions, and birds. The Panchsheel site will present Indian classical dance in a modern art style, while the IIT Delhi flyover will adopt a science and technology theme. Additionally, Punjabi Bagh will be developed with a yoga hall theme, and Mukarba Chowk will serve as an inter-transit hub theme.
