Delhi government to provide monthly stipends for young athletes
The Delhi government has introduced a monthly stipend of ₹2,000 to support young athletes through the Mukhyamantri Khel Protsahan Yojana. Announced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the initiative is designed as a grassroots component to help talented youth maintain consistent training practices.
The financial assistance is available to eligible athletes in the Under-14, Under-17, Under-19, and Under-21 age categories who are training regularly at Delhi government sports centres and stadiums. Education and Sports Minister Ashish Sood stated that the program aims to ensure financial difficulties do not prevent talented athletes from pursuing their sporting ambitions.
