Delhi gunpoint robbery nets 17 lakh in 28 seconds

In East Delhi’s busy Gandhi Nagar market, a finance‑company employee was robbed of INR 17 lakh cash at gunpoint. Two men on a motorcycle approached the victim, brandished a pistol, forced him against a wall and snatched his cash‑filled backpack before speeding away. CCTV footage captured the entire 28‑second incident, which quickly spread on social media.

Delhi police have registered a case, are analysing the CCTV recordings and other forensic evidence, and have launched a manhunt for the suspects. Authorities warned businesses handling large cash transactions to improve security measures in the market.

The robbery highlights concerns over personal safety and cash‑handling practices in crowded commercial areas of the capital.
