The Delhi High Court has granted bail to Sobiya Aziz and Kamran Ashraf Reshi, two individuals accused in a terror conspiracy case involving the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

A division bench comprising Justices Navin Chawla and Ravinder Dudeja granted the bail, noting that both accused had been in custody for nearly five years while awaiting trial. The court observed that there was no immediate prospect of the trial concluding soon.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had originally filed the case in 2021, alleging a wide-ranging terror conspiracy orchestrated from Pakistan involving various banned organizations active in Jammu and Kashmir. Aziz was accused of assisting terrorists, while Reshi was accused of association with online propaganda and Pakistan-based handlers.

The court ordered the release of the appellants on a personal bond of 2 lakh rupees each with two sureties. Conditions of the bail include the surrender of passports and a requirement to obtain prior permission from the trial court before traveling outside of India.
