Delhi High Court issues rulings in NIA and ED legal cases

The Delhi High Court has issued several rulings regarding bail applications in separate legal matters.

In a terrorism investigation led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the court granted bail to Naim, also known as Mohammad Naeem, after he spent more than seven years in custody. The court noted the slow progress of the trial, observing that only 42 of the 112 witnesses had been examined and stating there was “no possibility of the trial concluding any time soon”.

In a separate matter, Nayan Raheja, a director of Raheja Developers Ltd., has approached the Delhi High Court seeking anticipatory bail in a money-laundering investigation conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). This follows a rejection of his plea by the Saket District Court. The proceedings have highlighted a contradiction regarding Raheja's cooperation, as court records indicate he failed to appear for five out of seven summonses issued by the agency.
