Delhi High Court orders additional security for MP Pappu Yadav

The Delhi High Court has directed the Central Government to immediately provide one additional personal security officer (PSO) to Bihar MP Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav. This interim measure is intended to remain in place until the government reaches a final decision regarding Yadav’s formal request for enhanced security cover.

Justice Manoj Jain emphasized the necessity of the measure, noting that Yadav is a sitting Member of Parliament and that security incidents have occurred despite existing arrangements. Yadav, who represents the Purnia constituency, has reported receiving death threats following his participation in parliamentary protests. While the government stated that his representation is currently under consideration and expected to be decided within three weeks, the court ordered the immediate addition of the PSO to ensure his safety in the interim.
