Delhi High Court orders removal of Kala Hiran teaser over Salman Khan rights
The Delhi High Court directed that all online links to the teaser of the upcoming film “Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy” be taken down from platforms including X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube. Justice Jyoti Singh reprimanded producer Amit Jani, noting his apparent disregard for the law, and ordered the removal of related interviews. The film, directed by Bharat S. Shrinet, is said to draw on Salman Khan’s 1998 black‑buck poaching case and portray a rivalry with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, prompting Khan to file a petition asserting violation of his personality rights. Khan’s counsel argued that the teaser misleads the public despite the actor’s acquittal in three of four related cases. Jani’s counsel countered that the teaser contains no deep‑fake or AI‑generated content and does not name Khan. The court’s order aims to prevent unlawful exploitation of the actor’s image and to stop the spread of misleading narratives.
