Delhi High Court recommends raising district courts' monetary jurisdiction to ₹10 crore

The Delhi High Court Full Court has recommended expanding the pecuniar​y jurisdiction of district courts from the current limit of ₹2 crore to ₹10 crore. The Coordination Committee of All District Courts Bar Associations of Delhi issued a thank‑you note to the District Bar, describing the recommendation as a historic first step and indicating plans to seek further increases to ₹20 crore or unlimited jurisdiction.

Separately, the Supreme Court of India released Volume 5, Part 4 of its 2026 case reports, highlighting landmark decisions on topics such as arbitration, consumer protection, education law, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, quasi‑judicial authority review, and employer‑contract‑labour relationships.
