Delhi High Court Restores Cockroach Janta Party’s X Account After NEET Probe

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged leaks and irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The demonstration, led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, was attended by author Arundhati Roy and activist Sonam Wangchuk. A video of Roy claiming Kashmir is not part of India was circulating online, but it was verified to be from a 2010 conference, unrelated to the 2024 protest.

On July 7, the Delhi High Court ordered the reinstatement of the CJP’s X (formerly Twitter) account, ruling that the original justification for blocking – concerns tied to the NEET examination – was no longer valid after the exam concluded. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma granted the petition filed by Dipke, directing the government to unblock the account.
