Delhi L-G launches DDA-University Sports Cup 2026

Delhi Lieutenant Governor T. S. Sandhu has unveiled the curtain-raiser poster and video for the inaugural DDA-University Sports Cup 2026. The tournament is set to begin on October 27 and will feature athletes from 10 universities competing across five different team sports.

Sandhu announced the launch alongside the Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University and the Vice Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The initiative aims to nurture sporting talent and strengthen local sports infrastructure, aligning with the national Fit India Movement.

This announcement follows a recent DDA Sports Cup hockey tournament held at the Yamuna Sports Complex from October 8 to 18. That event involved 11 teams from the Delhi-National Capital Region and approximately 220 participants, including players and coaching staff.
