Delhi launches wellbeing programme for 30,000 students
The Delhi government has launched the ‘Eat Well • Live Well’ initiative across 75 CM SHRI Schools, targeting approximately 30,000 children. Introduced by Education Minister Ashish Sood, the programme aims to foster healthy and responsible daily habits through a concept known as Foundational Wellbeing Literacy (FWL).
Unlike traditional academic curricula, the initiative focuses on practical life skills. The framework is structured around 21 personal habits, seven social skills, and seven planetary skills. Key areas of focus include nutrition, food safety, hygiene, access to safe drinking water, physical activity, and environmental care.
The programme intends for these 75 schools to serve as models for integrating wellbeing into standard education. Additionally, the initiative seeks to involve parents to ensure that the healthy practices taught in schools are reinforced within the home environment.
