Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu opens Kirori Mal College Incubation Centre

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu inaugurated the Kirori Mal College Incubation Centre during the university's Freshers’ Orientation Programme 2026. In his address he urged students to cultivate intellectual curiosity, scientific temperament and independent thinking, and to have confidence in India’s institutions and their own capabilities. Sandhu highlighted the college’s seven‑decade legacy as a flagship institution of the University of Delhi and quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remark that university campuses are becoming dynamic hubs where "Yuva Shakti" drives breakthrough innovations. He also opened a new lift in the Science Block, describing it as a symbol of the college’s commitment to accessibility and inclusiveness. The lieutenant governor linked these initiatives to the broader goal of a "Viksit Bharat" by 2047, emphasizing the role of research, innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education.
