Delhi Metro warns creators over viral phone-sticking trend
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a strict warning to social media content creators following a viral trend involving mobile phones being attached to the windows of moving trains. The stunt, which has garnered millions of views on platforms like Instagram, involves creators using suction mounts or other means to stick phones to train windows to create the illusion that the device is being left behind as the train pulls away.
DMRC officials stated that this activity is prohibited within metro premises because it poses significant safety risks, including potential injury to passengers, inconvenience to commuters, and damage to mobile devices. The corporation emphasized that it is viewing the matter with serious concern and will take necessary action against anyone caught participating in such shoots.
Reports indicate that many of these videos were filmed along the Gurugram-Badli corridor. In response, authorities plan to increase surveillance in the area, utilizing CCTV cameras and increased patrols by CISF and metro security personnel to monitor station platforms and prevent such dangerous filming activities.
