Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa files defamation complaint against AAP leaders

The Rouse Avenue Court in New Delhi has issued notices to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj, Sanjeev Jha, and Kuldeep Kumar following a defamation complaint filed by Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

Sirsa alleges that the AAP leaders made false accusations during a press conference regarding a 'Gullak Chori' (donation box theft), rice theft, and various scams. He claims these allegations, which include claims of monthly rice theft worth Rs 600 crore and a larger scam of Rs 11,000 crore, have harmed his and his family's global reputation.

In response, AAP President Saurabh Bharadwaj has maintained his stance, alleging that Minister Sirsa was involved in a scam involving 5 crore kg of heavily subsidised rice intended for poor and daily wage labourers. Bharadwaj stated he has provided documentary evidence to the CBI and asserted that defamation cases will not deter efforts to seek accountability from the BJP government. The court has scheduled a hearing for November 18.
