Delhi Minister reviews new industrial policies and sustainability initiatives
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa is overseeing several initiatives aimed at economic growth and environmental sustainability in the capital. On the industrial front, the minister reviewed progress on the proposed Delhi Industrial Policy 2026–2036 and the Delhi Startup Policy 2026–2031. These policies aim to foster a sustainable industrial ecosystem focusing on frontier technologies, AI, machine learning, healthcare, and the circular economy. Key components include the proposed Go-Delhi Foundation to support innovation and the implementation of a digital Unified Industry Registry.
In parallel, the Delhi government is addressing environmental challenges through scientific waste management and pollution control. Minister Sirsa recently met with students from the University of Southampton who presented a study titled ‘Promoting Clean Air in Delhi NCR’. The study emphasizes that air pollution is an airshed-wide challenge requiring coordinated regional action and forecast-led interventions beyond the city's boundaries.
