Delhi murder investigation sparks political criticism over crime rates

A man was allegedly beaten to death with sticks and lathis in the Mayur Vihar Phase 3 area of Delhi. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. within the jurisdiction of the New Ashok Nagar police station. According to initial police reports, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Following the incident, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Kondli MLA Kuldeep Kumar criticized the deteriorating law and order situation in the capital, claiming that criminals no longer fear the police. Kumar noted that approximately seven to eight murders have occurred in his constituency within the last month and accused the BJP-led government and Delhi Police of failing to address the rising crime rate.

Police have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal assault and the sequence of events leading to the confrontation. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
