Delhi officials plant saplings under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign

Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and BJP Delhi President Harsh Malhotra participated in a tree plantation drive at PBG Ground as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign. The initiative, launched by the Rekha Gupta-led BJP government in Delhi, is the second phase of a campaign originally introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The campaign aims to plant 70 lakh saplings across Delhi. According to Minister Sirsa, approximately 50 lakh trees and saplings have been planted so far, with 15 lakh of those attributed to the Forest Department. Previous progress reports indicated that the campaign had surpassed the halfway mark by early August, having planted nearly 38 lakh saplings, including trees and shrubs.
