Delhi police AATS arrests two vehicle thieves in North‑East district

On 28 June, Delhi Police’s Anti‑Auto Theft Squad (AATS) captured two suspects, 22‑year‑old Sameer and 20‑year‑old Mohammad Kaif, near Gokulpuri village after setting a trap at metro pillar 268 on 26 June. The men were found riding a stolen motorcycle and could not produce registration papers.

Police recovered four stolen motorcycles, an Apple iPhone, and the scooter used in the crime. Both suspects confessed to involvement in multiple vehicle thefts and were charged under section 35‑1(E)/106 B.N.S. at Gokulpuri police station. The operation follows a 25 June complaint in Vikas Puri where a woman reported her iPhone being taken by three youths on a scooter.

Investigations continue to identify other participants and the buyers of stolen goods.
