Delhi Police arrest two gang members after Usmanpur encounter

The Delhi Police Special Staff arrested two suspected sharpshooters, identified as Mohammad Kaif and Mohammad Jaseem (also referred to as Wasim), following an encounter in the Usmanpur Yamuna Khadar area of Northeast Delhi.

According to police, the suspects are linked to the Rashid Cablewala gang, which reportedly operates on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The encounter occurred after police laid a trap based on intelligence that the men were traveling through a forested route toward their residence. When intercepted, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police team, prompting a retaliatory response. Approximately 26 rounds were exchanged during the shootout.

Both suspects sustained gunshot wounds to their legs and were transported to a hospital for treatment. During the exchange, bullets struck the bulletproof jackets of two police officers, though no officers were injured. The arrests follow an incident on October 2, where the suspects allegedly demanded extortion money from a businessman in Bhajanpura and fired shots in the air. Police recovered three pistols and a motorcycle from the scene.
