Delhi Police arrest 13 in illegal gambling raid

The Delhi Police apprehended 13 individuals following a raid on an illegal gambling racket in the Shahdara district. The operation, conducted at approximately 3:20 a.m. on October 10, was based on specific intelligence received by the Shahdara District Special Staff.

During the raid, authorities seized Rs 2,01,000 in cash, 416 playing cards, and 2,100 poker tokens and chips. Each token or chip was reportedly valued at Rs 1,000. The arrested individuals include residents from various areas such as Ram Vihar, Jagatpuri, Anand Vihar, and Laxmi Nagar.

The accused have been booked under sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Delhi Public Gambling Act. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajendra Prasad Meena stated that further investigations are underway to determine the full scope and circumstances of the illegal activities.
