Delhi Police Arrest Declared Criminals and Seize Illegal Alcohol in Separate Raids
Delhi police’s anti‑crime campaign led to the arrest of two declared offenders. Akash, alias Golu, a 30‑year‑old from Loni, Uttar Pradesh, was captured on July 10 after being listed as a declared criminal for robbery, theft and Arms Act offences. Kanti Devi, 55, a resident of Delhi’s Sonia Vihar, was also taken into custody for fraud and cheating charges. Both arrests were part of a targeted operation in the city’s Central district overseen by ACP Pankaj Singh and monitored by Additional Commissioner Padam Singh Rana.
In a separate anti‑bootlegging operation under the “Nash par lagam, desh ko Salaam!!” campaign, Delhi police seized 1,133 bottles of illicit liquor in the Chhawla area. The raid resulted in the arrest of Ashok Sharma, identified as a regular supplier of illegal alcohol, and the confiscation of a vehicle used to transport the contraband. The seized stock is being investigated under the Delhi Excise Act, with further inquiries planned to dismantle the supply network.
