Delhi Police arrest life convict absconding for 20 years

The Delhi Police Crime Branch's Inter-State Cell has arrested Sadhana, also known as Pooja, a life convict who had been absconding for over 20 years. She was apprehended in Haridwar on September 27 after living under an assumed identity.

Sadhana was originally convicted for the 1990 kidnapping and murder of a 10-year-old child in New Delhi. Investigators determined the crime was an act of revenge stemming from a dispute involving the child's family. Sadhana was found to have played an active role in the conspiracy and was the last person seen with the victim.

After being sentenced to life imprisonment, Sadhana was released on parole in December 2005. Following a medical extension, she failed to surrender to authorities in January 2006. Police tracked her down using human intelligence and verified leads regarding her presence in Haridwar.
