Delhi Police Arrest Main Shooter Gaurav Masalevala in Najafgarh Attempted Murder

The Delhi Police Crime Branch’s Anti‑Gangster Squad captured Gaurav Masalevala (also known as Love Sharma and Sandeep) near Deen Dayal Hospital in Hari Nagar after he had been on the run for weeks. The operation, led by Inspector Gulshan Yadav and supervised by ACP Bhagwati Prasad, used a covert trap that subdued the suspect despite his attempts to flee and resist.

Masalevala is a repeat offender with eleven cases filed against him, including murder, robbery, snatching, extortion and violations of the Arms Act. The arrest is linked to an incident on the night of 23 April in the Najafgarh neighbourhood, where he allegedly fired on a person during a fight, wounding the victim’s leg. Following the shooting, the suspects escaped on a motorcycle before being tracked through intelligence that predicted Masalevala’s arrival at the hospital.

Police officials say the capture will deal a significant blow to criminal activity in the Najafgarh area, where Masalevala had been involved in local gangs, illegal alcohol trade and extortion since 2025.
