Imran arrested after police encounter in Delhi murder case
Delhi Police have arrested Aqib, also known as Imran, the prime suspect in the murder of 21-year-old Muskan, a Delhi University student and part-time model. The arrest occurred following a police encounter in the Rajouri Garden area, where the suspect sustained gunshot injuries to his legs after allegedly firing at officers.
Muskan was stabbed to death in her rented home in the Tilak Nagar area on Wednesday, August 26, while she was alone. The suspect, a former gym trainer who had known the victim for approximately 1.5 years, had been on the run since the incident. Investigators believe the motive may be linked to the suspect's alleged anger over the victim's personal interactions.
Police reports indicate that Imran has a history of drug addiction and had previously been involved in a case of attempted murder. Following the encounter, the suspect was taken to a hospital for medical treatment and remains in custody.
