Delhi police arrest snatcher, recover five stolen mobiles and a scooter

Delhi police detained a 36‑year‑old man, identified as Akash, in the Nand Nagri area after a complaint on 6 July about a stolen mobile near B‑6 Dharmshala. A dedicated investigation team, led by Inspector Veerendra, examined CCTV footage and used technical surveillance to link the suspect to multiple snatching incidents. The arrest yielded five stolen mobile phones and a stolen Honda Activa scooter, which police said had been used in several thefts.

The police continue to probe the suspect’s involvement in other cases and to identify any accomplices. In a related operation, the Auto Theft Prevention Squad in Shahdara arrested a 28‑year‑old habitual auto thief and seized five two‑wheelers and a mobile phone, highlighting a broader crackdown on petty theft in the capital.
