Rohini murder and robbery case: Three suspects arrested
Delhi Police have apprehended three suspects, including the niece of the victim, in connection with a robbery and murder in Rohini Sector 3. The victim, 60-year-old Rakesh Khanna, was found dead in his ransacked home on September 1.
Investigators identified the suspects as Simran Taneja, 23, along with two associates, Chirag and Paras. Police believe the group conducted a reconnaissance of the residence two days prior to the crime. The motive appears to be the theft of cash and gold jewellery; approximately Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and various ornaments were reported stolen, though police have recovered roughly Rs 70,000 and some jewellery.
The victim's wife discovered the scene after returning home to find the house in disarray and Khanna unconscious. He was subsequently declared dead at Jaipur Golden Hospital. A fourth suspect remains at large as police continue to examine CCTV footage and forensic evidence to finalize the investigation.
