Delhi Police arrest three suspects in Aastha Kunj Park gang rape case

Police have arrested three men—Asif, Hemant Singh, and Mukesh Singh—following the alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old girl in Delhi’s Aastha Kunj Park. The victim reported that the suspects, aged between 24 and 31, posed as police officers to intimidate her and her friend before separating the girl and assaulting her at knifepoint.

Investigators are currently analyzing digital evidence, as the accused allegedly attempted to cover their tracks by deleting search histories and washing their clothing. Forensic teams have also recovered a pistol, a knife, and condoms from the scene. The victim’s detailed account has been instrumental in identifying the suspects and locating biological evidence.

In response to the incident, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has ordered enhanced security for all city parks, including restricted entry after sunset, increased night patrols, and the installation of additional CCTV cameras and lighting. The Delhi Police have also intensified patrolling in various neighborhoods, including Shahdara, to bolster public safety and address concerns raised by residents and senior citizens.
