Delhi Police Arrest Two in Hit‑and‑Run, Refute Social‑Media Assault Claims

On July 16, Delhi police announced the arrest of two suspects, Kuldeep alias Karan and Neeraj, in connection with a hit‑and‑run in the Alipur area that resulted in the death of head constable Amit, who was monitoring traffic. The police also seized the vehicle involved and said the investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, the Delhi police issued a statement responding to accusations on social media that officers had assaulted individuals on June 10, 2026. The force said the allegations were not supported by evidence, that bail applications were rejected, one suspect Jitu was arrested while others remain at large, and that no forced entry or abusive behavior was confirmed.
