Delhi Police arrest two suspects in separate criminal cases

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested 22-year-old Sushil Kumar in Bihar for his alleged involvement in an armed dacoity in the Golf Links area. The incident occurred on April 16, when armed assailants entered the residence of businessman Ashok Chawla, assaulting family members and stealing cash and jewellery valued at approximately Rs 30-35 lakh. Police investigations suggest Kumar, who had been employed as domestic help at the residence, acted in connivance with the attackers. Kumar had been wanted with a reward of Rs 50,000.

In a separate operation, authorities arrested 62-year-old Vishwanath Singh, also known as Munna, in northeast Delhi. Singh had been absconding for 26 years in connection with a 1998 murder case. Police allege that Singh killed his neighbor, Jai Prakash, by striking him with a hammer and staging the scene to resemble a hit-and-run accident. The motive was reportedly linked to suspicions regarding the victim's relationship with the accused's wife. Singh had been declared a proclaimed offender in 2001.
