Delhi Police Arrests in Major Smartphone Theft and Expired Food Racket

Delhi Police recovered 604 brand‑new Vivo smartphones worth about Rs 1.5 crore and arrested three suspects after a theft of roughly 1,500 phones from a consignment of 4,500 en route to Gurugram. The investigation, led by a special team in the Dwarka district, used CCTV footage and raids in Uttar Pradesh to retrieve the phones and identify the accused, who have prior theft records.

In a separate operation in Okhla, Delhi Police, together with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, seized food products valued at over Rs 20 lakh and arrested seven people, including the owner of Westened Corporation Pvt. Ltd. The raid uncovered a scheme that altered manufacturing and expiry dates on popular international brands such as Thums Up, Fanta and Maggi, repackaging them for domestic and overseas markets. The authorities seized printing and sealing equipment used for the fraud and launched further investigation.
