Indian law enforcement conducts major narcotics and arms smuggling busts
Indian law enforcement agencies have conducted several major operations targeting narcotics and illegal arms trafficking. The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) executed ‘Operation Black Hawk’, seizing 18.64 kg of crude heroin near Lucknow. The operation involved intercepting a vehicle with a concealed compartment in its fuel tank and a truck with a secret chamber in its frame.
In Delhi, the Crime Branch dismantled an international narco-terror module allegedly linked to Arsh Dalla. The syndicate, which operated across Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan, was found to be using opium trafficking to Canada to fund terror activities and a drugs-for-weapons nexus. Police arrested four individuals and recovered 5.138 kg of opium.
Other significant seizures include the Punjab Police busting an arms smuggling network that recovered 10 pistols and 10 cartridges, and the Surat Crime Branch intercepting mephedrone worth ₹30 lakh. Separately, in the business sector, FedEx announced a USD 150 million investment to develop an air cargo hub at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport to enhance regional connectivity.
