Delhi Police Dismantle Interstate Luxury Car Theft Ring, Seize 12 High-End Vehicles
The Delhi Police Crime Branch’s Anti‑Extortion & Kidnapping Cell uncovered a large interstate network that stole high‑end automobiles across Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. The operation resulted in the seizure of 12 luxury vehicles—including Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Thar, Hyundai Creta, Kia, Toyota Innova, Maruti Brezza, Swift Dzire, Tata Harrier and Hyundai Alcazar—along with counterfeit number plates and forged registration certificates.
Arrests were made in Punjab and Rajasthan: Gurvinder Singh, known as “Baanka,” was detained in Delhi after his vehicle was recovered from a Crown Plaza hotel parking area, and Dashrath Bishnoi of Bikaner was captured in Rajasthan. Both suspects were alleged to have sold the stolen cars in Punjab and Rajasthan after falsifying documents and pricing them at ₹4‑5 lakh each. The two men are currently in judicial custody while investigations continue to identify additional members of the ring and recover other stolen vehicles.
