Delhi Police file charge sheet in fatal Saket building collapse
Delhi Police have filed a charge sheet in the Saket Court regarding a building collapse in Said-ul-Ajaib village that occurred on May 30, 2026. The incident resulted in six deaths and several injuries.
The charge sheet names three individuals: building owner Karamvir Singh and builders Manish Khatri and Avinash Gupta. The accused face multiple charges under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including culpable homicide not amounting to murder, negligent conduct during construction or repair, and causing grievous hurt through rash or negligent acts.
The building, which housed offices and a cafe near the Saket Metro Station, collapsed during the evening. All three accused persons have been arrested, and the case is scheduled for a hearing by the Judicial Magistrate First Class on August 22.
