Delhi Police files FIR against journalist Rozy and CJP members

Delhi Police has registered an FIR against independent journalist Rozy, Gajendra Singh, and several members of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), including founder Abhijit Dipke, following a complaint by ACP Vivek Bhagat.

The incident stems from a protest held at Jantar Mantar on October 3 against the Election Commission. ACP Bhagat, who was deployed for law and order duties, alleged that during the protest, Rozy made derogatory caste-based remarks regarding his Megh/Meghwal identity and questioned his appointment to his position.

Bhagat further alleged that while he was managing protesters and conducting detentions, Rozy accused him of sexual harassment. The ACP claims that Rozy and her associates repeatedly confronted him, obstructing his official duties. He also reported that protesters gathered outside the Sansad Marg police station that evening, using abusive language and labeling him with derogatory terms.

The FIR includes charges under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to defamation, obstructing public servants, and criminal conspiracy. The complaint also cites the circulation of defamatory posts and reels on social media platforms like X and Instagram, which the ACP claims caused him mental distress and professional damage. A separate investigation into the sexual harassment allegations filed by Rozy is currently being handled by the Delhi Police Crime Branch.
