Delhi Police identify mastermind in Kalkaji Temple sexual assault case

Delhi Police have identified a 32-year-old vegetable wholesaler, Asif, as the alleged mastermind in the sexual assault of a minor near Kalkaji Temple. The incident occurred at Astha Kunj Park, where three men—Asif, Hemant, and Mahesh—reportedly followed the victim and her friend for nearly a kilometer after they had offered prayers.

Investigators state the suspects posed as police personnel to intimidate the victims. The three men allegedly took turns assaulting the girl at different locations within the park. During the investigation, police recovered a pistol, a knife, and obscene videos from Asif’s mobile phone. One suspect, Asif, was injured during a recent encounter with law enforcement.

Police revealed that Hemant, a 24-year-old advocate, had previously been removed from a gym following complaints regarding his behavior toward women. The brothers, Hemant and Mahesh, reportedly showed “no remorse” during questioning. Authorities are currently examining the suspects' criminal records and mobile devices to determine if they were involved in previous similar incidents in the area.
