Delhi Police officers attacked in Mukundpur assault
Three Delhi Police personnel were injured during an assault in the Mukundpur area of north-west Delhi on August 22. The incident occurred in Janta Vihar near Bhalswa Dairy after officers seized a motorcycle that lacked valid documentation.
According to reports, the motorcycle owner and several family members confronted the officers, throwing chilli powder into their eyes and attacking them with bricks, stones, and sticks. Head Constable Dinesh sustained a head injury, and Head Constable Tinu was also attacked while attempting to assist his colleagues. All injured officers were taken for medical treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
Police have apprehended a 17-year-old minor in connection with the attack. The main suspect, identified as Sunil, also known as Pankaj, fled the scene. Authorities noted that Sunil is a known local offender with five previous criminal cases, including two involving the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. An FIR has been registered, and police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects.
