Delhi Police officers denied and granted bail in separate bribery cases

A Delhi court granted regular bail to IPS officer Deepak Gahlawat after roughly 30 days in custody. The court noted that further custodial interrogation was unnecessary, imposed a bond of Rs 50,000 with a surety, and ordered that he not leave India without permission while cooperating with the investigation.

In a related matter, the same court dismissed the second bail application of Delhi Police Subhash Chand, who headed the Narcotics Cell. Despite the charge sheet being filed, the judge said there was a risk Chand could influence witnesses, and therefore his detention would continue.

Both cases involve CBI investigations into alleged bribery and potential interference with law‑enforcement inquiries.
