Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leaders booked over Gurdwara Bangla Sahib incident
Delhi Police have registered an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders following a complaint by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). The complaint alleges that AAP workers and supporters caused a disturbance and attempted to misuse the sanctity of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib for political protests.
The DSGMC further accused AAP leaders of circulating misleading videos on social media to malign the gurdwara's management. In response, AAP leaders have alleged that Delhi Police violated the sanctity of the religious site by entering the premises with shoes on and heads uncovered while pursuing protesters.
Delhi Police have refuted these claims, stating that officers were seen in a common passage used by devotees to remove their footwear. Meanwhile, AAP has submitted a memorandum to the Akal Takht Jathedar seeking action against the Union Home Minister regarding the conduct of the police during the incident.
