Delhi Police rescue abducted 11-year-old after 22-km chase
Delhi Police successfully rescued an 11-year-old boy who had been abducted by an acquaintance, Dharam Pal. The incident began on August 31, when the child failed to return home from school.
Investigators determined that the suspect, a 26-year-old resident of Uttar Pradesh, kidnapped the boy to pressure the child's sister into a relationship with him. The suspect had reportedly threatened to kill the child if the woman did not comply with his demands.
Following a 22-kilometre pursuit from Loni, Ghaziabad, to the Azadpur Flyover in Delhi, police intercepted the suspect. During the apprehension, Dharam Pal consumed a poisonous substance to avoid arrest. He was subsequently transported to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial (BJRM) Hospital, where he remains in police custody while receiving medical treatment.
