Delhi Police reviews security for ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ rally
Delhi Police has reviewed security arrangements for the ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ rally proposed by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Authorities issued a notice to activist Abhijeet Dipke, citing restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and noting the impact on the Connaught Place area during the festive season.
Following the march, Delhi Police released specific guidelines regarding the proper handling and display of the national flag in accordance with the Flag Code of India. The guidelines mandate that the tricolour must be accorded due respect and displayed in a position of honour. Prohibited actions include flying the flag upside down, using it as clothing or uniform, printing it on items like cushions or napkins, or allowing it to touch the ground or water.
In a separate development, the Karnataka government confirmed that permission was granted for a peaceful Tiranga March in Bengaluru. Participants gathered at Town Hall to begin the march toward the Quit India Memorial.
