Delhi Premier League Season 3 auction draws over 600 players

The Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20 Season 3 player auction is set for 1 July in Delhi. Eight men’s franchises and four women’s franchises will assemble squads, each with a purse of Rs 1.5 crore for the men and Rs 75 lakh for the women after retained‑player deductions.

More than 600 cricketers have entered the auction – over 400 men and 200 women. Prior to the auction, 65 men’s and 28 women’s players have already been retained. The men’s marquee pool features India international Rishabh Pant, along with Ishant Sharma, Navdeep Saini and other high‑profile names; the women’s marquee pool includes Priya Punia, Priya Mishra, Parunika Sisodia, Pratika Rawal and Simran Dil Bahadur. Players are grouped into four categories with base prices ranging from Rs 10 lakh for marquee men to Rs 75 000 for women’s Category C. Each franchise also holds one Right‑to‑Match card for reclaiming a retained player during the auction.
